Signs that Your Heater Needs To Be Serviced
With fall slowly winding down and winter right around the corner, you’ll want to be sure that your heating system is in perfect working order. As your heat is turned on, keep these following warning signs in mind.
Unordinary Noises: If you start hearing loud and excessive noise from your heating system, there could be something wrong. It is normal to hear the typical hums, pings, and occasional clangs but if they start to happen at a faster rate or if they grow louder, your system could be under extra stress.
Unexpected Heating Cost Increase: If you notice rates start increasing at a rate much higher than your provider’s rates, there could be a more underlying issue.
Ineffective Heating: This may be the most obvious and most common heating system trouble. If some rooms in your house get hot but other don’t or if cranking up the dial still doesn’t fully heat your house, there is certainly something wrong. Al Terry Plumbing and Heating can evaluate the route of the problem and can provide recommendations to fix it.
Yellow Pilot Light: If you notice a yellow pilot light, this means that there is a poor air/gas mixture.
With your heat being turned on for a couple weeks to a month now, it is important that you keep your eyes out for any of these issues. If you notice any similar problems, please feel free to give us a call at 603-485-4205 or fill out our contact form.
