Spring Plumbing Tips
Warm weather and spring temperatures are here! The weather is getting much warmer and more enjoyable outside but there are a few things you can do in order to prevent spring plumbing problems. This is the perfect time of the year to check some of the following things out:
- Check your faucets for any drips or leaks. If any noticeable drips are seen, be sure to take care of this as soon as possible to reduce money loss.
- You can also check for toilet leaks. Drop around five to six drops of food coloring into your toilet tank. Within 30 mins if you notice this color in the toilet, there is a leak occurring.
- Check your drains, gutters and downspouts. Debris from throughout the winter such dirt and tree debris can often cause clogs which may result in flooding and house leaks. After cleaning drains, poor a gallon of water down these drains. Water should smoothly flow through in case of high rains or flooding.
- Consider the opportunity of replacing your water heater if it older then 15 years old. The newer the water heater, the more energy efficient it will be. On the serial number the first four numbers represent the month and year, the appliance was made.
